ISSA’s Cyber Executive Forum (CEF) is a distinguished quarterly event under the Cyber Executive Membership program. This program is designed to foster mutual success by providing executives with access to a vast network of peers, invaluable information, and leading industry experts. It serves as an essential resource for members to deepen their personal and industry-wide understanding of pressing information security issues.
The inaugural CEF of 2024 was hosted at the stunning Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa in Clearwater, FL, on February 22-23. The venue’s breathtaking ocean views made the kickoff cocktail reception on the evening of February 22 particularly memorable.
From the South Florida chapter, notable attendees included Ernesto Ariel Salas, IT Manager at Nidec Instruments; Erich Beyer, Sr. Director of Information Security at Jazwares and former director at the SFISSA chapter; and Yosi Attias, President of the SFISSA chapter. The forum provided an excellent opportunity to engage with the Board of Directors, the new management team, and the association at large.
The following day offered a uniquely intimate learning experience with interactive expert-led discussions, roundtable sessions, peer-to-peer conversations, and social engagements. Each element of the forum delivered new insights and actionable strategies to enhance our organization’s ability to achieve vital business objectives.
We were honored to have presentations from esteemed speakers, including:
Karen Worstell, renowned for her role as a Chief Information Security Officer for various iconic brands and a leader in Silicon Valley’s technology sector.
James R. McQuiggan, with 20 years in cybersecurity, currently serving as a Security Awareness Advocate for KnowBe4.
Dr. Shawn P. Murray, Principal Scientist at the United States Missile Defense Agency and an officer in the US Civil Air Patrol.
Douglas Brush, a Special Master and Court Appointed Neutral expert in significant legal cases concerning privacy, security, and eDiscovery.
Chris Cronin, partner at HALOCK Security Labs and Chair of the DoCRA Council.
Roland Cloutier, a globally recognized leader in technology and security with deep expertise in global protection and digital technology enablement.
Gaelle Koanda, a seasoned cybersecurity professional at Ball Aerospace, known for her expertise in GRC developed through roles at various Fortune 500 companies.
We eagerly anticipate the next CEF, scheduled to occur in San Francisco just before the RSA Conference.
Additionally, our committees, working groups, and special interest groups are currently thriving with activity. I strongly encourage you to get involved and contribute to the collective progress in our field!
