South Florida’s February 2015 meeting will be on Thursday, February 19th, 2015 at Nova Southeastern University. The meeting will take place in the Carl DeSantis Building from 5:30 – 9pm, followed by their usual networking hour.

Title & Abstract: Working Smarter rather than Harder: The art of remediation and it’s effects on YOUR Organization.

Speaker: Jeff Michael

Bio:
Jeff Michael is a seasoned security professional with nearly 20 years in penetration testing, security assessments, malware reverse-engineering and forensics investigations. Mr. Michael has written several security courses and has been a presenter at many worldwide conferences and shows. Classes that he wrote include “Security Open Source”, “Hacking Exposed”, and “Forensic Analysis 101”. He is considered a Subject Matter Expert in computer forensics and investigations. As a subject matter expert he has utilized his knowledge in security to assist in numerous international and criminal investigations. These investigations have included Malware Infections, HTTP code review, Malware analysis, Virus/Trojan analysis, social engineering, and several other techniques. He is currently working as a Senior System Engineer at Hexis Cyber Solutions and has been a consultant forFireEye, NetForensics, Verisign, ISS, and other security firms. Mr. Michael graduated from Purdue University obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He holds the following certifications: CISSP, CCSI, CCSE+, CCSE, CCSA, NSA, NCSE, NCSA, ICE

Abstract:
Cyber-attacks are becoming increasingly complex and persistent, making it difficult for security professionals to protect their organizations as they head into the virtualized, IoT era. In this session, Radware will share real world experiences gathered by its Emergency Response Team and discuss how leading enterprises are using Radware’s integrated Attack Mitigation Systems to successfully defend against the latest generation of attacks.

Bio:
Ben Desjardins is Director of Security Solutions and drives the development of vertical and use-case specific solutions for Radware’s Security Product Portfolio. In this role, Ben focuses extensively on the competitive landscape for anti-DDoS, Web Application Firewalls and Intrusion Prevention Systems.

Ben has extensive experience across a wide array of security technologies and disciplines, including DDoS, DNS, SSL, Threat/Vulnerability Management, IAM and PCI-DSS and he brings nearly two decades of marketing management experience to his work at Radware, including over 12 years focused on the information security and cyber threat arenas. Additionally, Ben has led global go-to-market efforts across many industries including retail, Ecommerce, financial services, public sector and healthcare/life sciences. Prior to joining Radware, Ben served as the Director of Product Marketing at Verisign for over 10 years.
