As first responders and diagnosticians during intrusion and breach events, you have unique responsibilities and powers to assist your enterprise to recover from a data breach event. Understanding the legal obligations imposed on victims of data breaches can help your enterprise recover quickly and hopefully avoid expensive civil, criminal and regulatory litigation and penalties.

Drew Hinkes is Of Counsel to Berger Singerman LLP’s Dispute Resolution Team. Drew represents leading companies and entrepreneurs in dispute resolution matters, including state and federal commercial litigation matters, and representation of court- appointed fiduciaries. He also advises clients regarding document retention issues, data breaches, management of electronically stored information production and analysis of electronic discovery in state and federal litigation. Drew also has significant experience counseling and advising businesses on electronic records management strategies, and web site terms of service and privacy policies. Drew is also frequently cited as an authority on bitcoin and virtual currency-related topics.

Victor has worked in the South Florida Technology industry for the last 18 Years of which the past 9 years solely on Security. Having held roles in the Consulting, Customer and now vendor side gives him a good grasp on how technology has evolved and challenges businesses have keeping up with the latest methods to protect themselves. At FireEye, Inc., Victor has the privilege of working with a great team of skilled, well-rounded engineers, striving to help customers stay on top of a constantly changing attack landscape. He enjoys learning about the latest APTs/advanced threats, emerging threat trends, listening to customer challenges and helping them better protect & respond in their environments. When he’s not doing that, he’s playing golf and spending time with his wife and twin boys in Miami, FL!
