SFISSA’s first meeting of the new 2017 year will be on Thursday, January 19th, 2017 at Nova Southeastern University. The meeting will take place in the Carl DeSantis Building from 6PM to 9:30PM, followed by their usual networking hour.
Presentation One
Anatomy of an attack – It’s a “who” not a “what”
Abstract
Modern targeted attackers have moved beyond simple execution of “off the shelf” offensive tools, and tune their tools, techniques, and procedures for stealth, speed, and maximum effectiveness. By simulating this advanced threat, the Mandiant Red Team Operations Group helps organizations measure the effectiveness of their information security controls and personnel.
This presentation will take you through a typical Red Team “Anatomy of a Hack”, and demonstrate why simple penetration testing may not be providing an accurate measurement of your organization’s resilience to sophisticated threat actors.
