This past Thursday evening, we had an exceptional monthly meeting in collaboration with the ISC2 South Florida Chapter. A special thank you to Frank Martinez, Arturo Santos, Sam Pahlavan, and Matias Fernandez, for their stellar collaboration on behalf of ISC2.
Hosted at the Alan B. Levan | NSU Broward Center of Innovation, the Cyber Range proved to be a perfect setting, fostering an atmosphere of enriching discussions and professional camaraderie.
Our combined session with another esteemed chapter magnified our impact and delivered unparalleled value. The enthusiasm was palpable—everyone left feeling inspired and more connected to our Infosec community.
Our evening began with an engaging presentation by Dan Barahona from APIsec University, who shared valuable resources, demonstrating his dedication to enriching our knowledge base. Following Dan, Adrian Diaz from Palo Alto Networks Unit 42 delved into the intricacies of ransomware and extortion, sparking lively discussions that extended into a very successful networking event.
The meeting also highlighted a surge in volunteer interest, which bodes well for our chapter’s future. The energy and willingness to engage that each new volunteer brought to the meeting are vital to our community’s ongoing growth and vibrancy.
A heartfelt thank you to all members who attended and contributed. Your spirit is the backbone of our chapter and what truly makes us stand out.
We are eagerly preparing for the exciting events we have lined up for the rest of the year, including our May meeting in Palm Beach and our September HTF event. If you haven’t signed up to volunteer yet, I encourage you to join us in shaping these future events. Email to to express interest at: info@sfissa.org
